Yoga to reduce Mid Back, Upper Back & Neck Pain with special focus on Thoracic Scoliosis

Are you having neck, upper back or thoracic pain due to a curve in your thoracic spine?  If so, try this class to learn different techniques to bring your body into alignment and help reduce the pain.   When someone has a lateral curve in their thoracic spine, there is often times discomfort or pain in the upper regions of the body.  So are we to just live with the pain or treat it with pain meds?  I certainly don’t believe so.

I’ve had pain in my upper spine for close to 30 years.  At times it is constant and chronic.  Several years ago I had it lasting for 9 straight months and I tried every trick in my “yoga therapy toolkit,” to get it to release.  Once again I went on the hunt to learn how to reduce my upper back, neck and even arm pain (yes, it radiated down to my thumb).  Thanks to some fabulous yoga therapists and fascia teachers, I figured out how to break the pain cycle and control it without meds.  Thanks to Sheila Wenzel and James Knight  I discovered the subtle power of Somatics.  And then from Terry Brown and Marty Macon I found the magic of MELT fascia work.  And yes, the pain does come back periodically, but now I know what to do to prevent it from escalating and “melt” it away.

This class will teach you some somatics and fascial release techniques that I have found indispensable.  You will need a MELT soft fascia roller for part of this class.  If you are local, I may have one you can borrow.  So let me know soon.

Hope you will join me for this online Zoom class by sending an email to Karen@YogaTherapyWithKaren.com.  The class costs $10 unless you are one of my regular monthly class attendees, and then it is free.  Note:  The class will be videoed, so if you can’t make the class in-person, let me know and I can send you the link later.
