
Yoga for Osteoporosis Workshop
Do you have osteopenia or osteoporosis and wonder what you can do naturally to strengthen your bones? Certain yoga poses have been shown to improve bone density. This workshop will include guidelines for safety in yoga poses, we’ll learn key information on what lifestyle changes we need to incorporate to help your bones and then we’ll do a yoga practice designed for strengthening bones.
Just last month I completed an in-person workshop on Yoga for Osteoporosis with Dr. Loren Fishman and received my certification to teach Yoga for Osteoporosis. Can’t wait to bring you the latest research and new work from Dr. Fishman. This is important content for all of us working to improve our bone density!
We will practice Dr. Fishman’s original series of 12 Yoga Poses for Osteoporosis. Once you learn these poses and work on proper alignment you can eventually do the poses in about 12 minutes a day. We’ll spend more time at first to make sure you are doing the poses correctly at an appropriate level and with good effort. During the workshop you will also learn about two additional series of poses that Dr. Fishman is currently testing for osteoporosis. I will also share with you how you can practice online directly with Dr. Fishman and his assistant, Liz Larson. All poses will have modifications, so whether you are a beginner who has never done yoga or an advanced practitioner, you will find a way to do the pose for your ability right now.
