
12 Yoga Poses for Osteoporosis … Plus More!
When you were diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, were you given any options of what to do to strengthen your bones other than possibly walking more regularly or the possibility of taking medicines with some pretty scary side effects? I wasn’t. There are times we must take the meds and work with our health providers to find the best one for us. However, there are other holistic things we can do for our bones that are often not offered. My favorite are the 12 Yoga Poses that Dr. Loren Fishman has studied for 20+ years, documenting positive effects to most people’s DEXA results over time once they do the poses on a daily basis. This workshop will dig in a little deeper to Dr. Fishman’s “Series 1” yoga poses for osteoporosis. (Yes, you will do the poses in-between our discussions. And modifications for the poses will be given.) But we will also look at other options to help our bones. Good nutrition, proper posture, Ayurvedic recommendations, naturopathic & herbal holistic practices.
