SUMMARY:“The 10 Hallmarks of Aging: Inflammaging” by Dr. Susan Hunsinger Cannon
DESCRIPTION:Are you curious about what factors cause aging?  How does it really work?  And how does inflammation fit into the picture of aging?  And exactly what are the 10 Hallmarks of Aging?  Here’s a list (by Patel Health) that will get your started:\n1. Genomic instability: Accumulation of DNA damage and mutations over time.\n2. Telomere attrition: Gradual shortening of protective caps on the ends of chromosomes.\n3. Epigenetic alterations: Changes in gene expression patterns that affect cellular function.\n4. Loss of proteostasis: Decline in the body’s ability to maintain proper protein folding and degradation.\n5. Deregulated nutrient sensing: Dysregulation of nutrient-sensing pathways that control metabolism.\n6. Mitochondrial dysfunction: Decline in the function and efficiency of cellular energy production.\n7. Cellular senescence: Accumulation of senescent cells that no longer divide and contribute to inflammation.\n8. Stem cell exhaustion: Reduction in the capacity of stem cells to regenerate tissues.\n9. Altered intercellular communication: Disruption in signaling between cells and tissues.\n10. Age-related changes in metabolism: Shifts in metabolic processes and nutrient utilization.\nThese hallmarks collectively contribute to the aging process and age-related diseases.  Find out more by joining this Q&A discussion with Dr. Susan Hunsinger Cannon on March 13th.\nSend an email to Karen@YogaTherapyWithKaren.com to be included into the Zoom link.\n
